Social inclusion is a broad process that requires changes in the physical environments and mentality of all people, including people with disabilities and their families. The objective of social inclusion is to achieve a society that accepts and values individual differences and learns to live with diversity through understanding and cooperation. This work intends to collaborate so that this barrier in the educational context, seen by many as a challenge, is broken. This research is linked to the research line Culture and Process of Teaching Learning, of the Federal University of Goiás/Jataí Regional. The general objective of this study is to analyze the pedagogical practice and social attitudes of teachers and students in physical education classes in three inclusive state schools in the city of Jataí. Some questions were taken as a starting point for the research, which are: What are the social attitudes of teachers and students in the inclusive process? How is the pedagogical practice of the physical education teacher working in an inclusive perspective? Have teachers and students been conducive to the effective participation of students with disabilities in class? Does the pedagogical practice in physical education classes in an inclusive perspective meet the attitudes advocated by teachers? What are the needs and difficulties of this teacher regarding pedagogical practice in regular physical education classes with students with disabilities? Physical education, as a curricular discipline of the elementary school foreseen in the BNCC - Common National Curriculum Base – approved in 2017, cannot be indifferent or neutral to the inclusive education movement and teachers, in this perspective, need to qualify and review concepts and attitudes towards students considered marginalized. The research subjects were 266 students from the final grades of elementary school, from the three schools and four physical education teachers who work in these same schools. We opted for a quantitative and qualitative research, using as data collection instruments two scales: Likert Social Attitudes Towards Inclusion Scale (ELASI) and Children's Social Attitudes Towards Inclusion Scale, applied to physical education teachers and students, as well as a questionnaire open to physical education teachers, with the intention of broadening the look at the quantitative phase. The scores obtained were treated by nonparametric Mann-Whitney and Kruskal-Walis statistical tests, tabulated and analyzed with the support of the SPSS 20.0 software and the questionnaire based on content analysis. It is concluded that the research subjects agree that there is a need for greater investment by the government in vocational training and that teachers are not yet prepared for inclusion. Regarding social attitudes, teachers showed favorable attitudes towards inclusion according to ELASI. As for the students, significant differences were found in terms of school investigated in relation to attitudes favorable to inclusion. It was also found with teachers that students with disabilities actively participate in physical education classes within their limitations, but need, in their opinion, greater pedagogical support for their monitoring during classes in order to improve their cognitive development, in addition to pointing out issues related to inadequate physical space and materials as the main difficulties in working out physical education content in class. The research confirms that the current situation in the educational context, especially with regard to the inclusion of students with disabilities policies, is far from what the current legal provisions in the country provides. There needs to be a greater engagement of the whole society to the practicalities of inclusion really happen as expected.
